I have been smoke free for 18 months after smoking for 42 years. My niece was a chain smoker and called me and said she had quit smoking and was close to 6 months smoke free!!! I asked her how she did it and she said her Doctor perscribed Chantix for her. I went to my Doctor the next day and he perscribed Chantix for me. I was a little sceptical as I had tried to quit several times before and failed. I was shocked that by the 2nd day I took Chantix, I actually "forgot" to have a cigarette until 2 in the afternoon. I was on a 16 week program and have not had a cigarette since the 6th week so I had no reason to take any more. Since then, I have gotten my sister, another niece and 2 people at WM to quit using Chantix.
