First, I don't see any contradiction in the two lists as far as the example you give. The serial number ranges don't overlap. Allocated means that those numbers were reserved for the factory to be used for machines that they would produce. This had to be done so that the various factories didn't use the same numbers.

I believe what he was saying, is his number AE721278,

falls/comes in between both the examples given..or am i reading it wrong too?
since i am not familiar with these machines..i assumed the "period" after "064." doesn't really mean anything...

so the second set of numbers is what his machine actually falls under? thanks
