Just because you don't care for it, I'm sure your MIL will since you made it for her. What a great gift for her. Be excited and proud when you give it to her. If you show disappointment, she may sense it and think it's just a cast off that you gave her instead of you actually making it for her. It'll be just fine. Lots of times the quilting finishes it off just right.
