Yes, but just think how pretty they'll be at the end of your classes, and then you can just put them away and forget them until the next time.
I'm a little that way with FMQ, and needleturn applique. Fusible by machine or hand is easy for me, and I really enjoy it, but needleturn, ahhh just getting cold shivers thinking about it.
