I'm a beginner too and am learning a lot with my quilting as well. My first big lesson was not using straight pins to sandwich layers on an oversized queen Log Cabin quilt. Now, I'm trying to get the courage to take it out and swap all those pins for the safety pins so I can finish it. Every time I touch it there's a blood-letting! LOL!! Maybe after Christmas... :-)
