Most of the time it is the old oil gumming up in the works. In my 301 manual it states to put a little Kerosene in the oil holes and run it until if frees up then put a drop of oil in the same spots afterwards.
A lot of the time you can pop the top of the machine off and open the face plate and take a hair drier and warm it up then put a few drops of oil in the spots and it will work.
