Well it usually takes a Zigzag capable machine to do a satin stitch, the 500series will do that or you can get the ZigZag attachment for your machine. As far as the thread I imagine that it will run it, it would be up to the size of the needle. But there are a few folks here that would know how to answer that one for you!
