My friend is having twins in less than a week. She's having complications and they are taking them early. :(
So I'm making her a turtle quilt for each of them. She's having a boy and a girl. I have a fish batik for the background fabric and have a huge turtle shell appliqué and am going to do the two baby turtles swimming behind the big turtle. I know she loves turtles and I told her I'd be making the quilts for the babies...but my question is....before I add the head and feet..is it too much batik. The fabric I have picked out for the other body parts is a solid olive green. That was the closest I had to a turtle color.
I will be adding a solid or maybe a black border around the quilts to frame them and make the middle pop out more. I don't think I can throw anymore batiks in and make it look nice.
