Hi, this is Bobbie. I wrote to the quilting board while I was in Fl, visiting my mom. I am home now and wanted to tell you something about myself.
I am 60, married 40 years, have a boy and a girl and they have collectively, given us 5 precious grandchildren.
I own a Home Inspection business, National Property Inspections,
Staunton, IL. and my husband Jim and my son Brett both work for me as home and radon inspectors.
I tried quilting a bit in 1987, but it was one of those never-finished projects. 4 years ago, I decided to make another one, and Jimmy and I went and selected material (I inadvertantly "made up" a pattern (it is the rail fence pattern, sort of. I'd never seen a pattern book even, at that time!) Jimmy literally engineered the who thing, cut it out (and said never again!), and I sewed it together by hand! I tried putting it together (sandwiched) and basted it and even marked it (that was a disaster--this who project took me almost 2 years!), and then decided I couldn't do the quilting by hand and took it to the new lady up town that had a long arm quilting machine. Since then, in the last year, I have machine sewed 8 tops! (all twin size) 4 of them different size squared grannys), taken two classes in two different patterns, done a Thimbleberries Block of the month quilt, and am going to take a "crazy quilt" class on Saturday! I am also reading Jennifer Chiavierini's Elm Creek books, and absolutely love them as well as quilting. Now I'm done--can you tell I'm a talker? Thanks to everyone who answered all my questions when I first came on the quilting board. If anyone would like to e-mail me, my e-mail address is
[email protected]. Thanks again to everyone who was SO sweet to me. And of course, Jesus is Lord of my life! Bobbie :D :D :D
