We used to cut plexiglass all the time at work, we used a regular table saw. It's not all that accurate unless you're really good. And, you need the same angle on both sides which can be accomplished by one long cut as long as you slightly angle each end. While not all that difficult with the correct ruler there is a lot of cutting and measuring. I wouldn't even want to attempt it with something less than a real ruler. But, it doesn't take that much fabric and you might come up with something all together new. I say go for it.
