Marks and Spencer sell clothing for children as well as adults made out of plastic bottles, they are wonderfully soft and are machine washable so Icannot see why batting shouldn't be washable too. It has been on sale over here for a long time though I have not used it yet. Apparently it is good for hand quilting as well as machine.
