Egg Custard Pie (North Carolina)

1 1/4 c. sugar
2 t. melted butter
1/2 t. salt
4 large eggs
2 c. milk
1 t. vanilla
1 pie shell - unbaked (I use the Pillsbury & a regular pie pan)

Mix all ingredients (I use the blender) and pour into the unbaked pie shell. Bake at 425 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes until the center is set.

(I put the pie pan into the oven and pour the egg mixture into the shell while it is in the oven so that I don't spill everywhere).
