The only square quilt I have ever made was the last baby quilt for my grt.grnd Daughter. It was a floor quilt. I doubt that it is equal.. in fact I know it is not,by doing just what you said folding it up.. Flat out you can't tell so who cares? Guarantee you the baby wont and the mom ! well who cares it is till a darn pretty quilt. So do as the others said and forget abt. Quilt Police. Congrats on your first on done and keep it going
