There are probably different reasons for different people to buy the vintage machines. I do believe it is the nostalgia of them, for one. I also think that some of these older Singers make a much better stitch than some of the new machines. Many of the older machines are made to last while the present day machines aren't. I enjoy looking at my 66-16 and sit down and play with it just for the heck of it. Some times it is just different strokes for different folks......although I do see that many buy them just for the novelty of them.

I have that very machine...it used to be my Grandmother's. I haven't used it because I wanted a machine that had a few more stitches to offer. So tell me...since I don't collect machines...why do folks collect the older machines that don't offer more variety in stitches, etc. Do they sew better? I'd like to know so I'll either get mine serviced and up and running again or find another home for her. Thanks!
