I use bolts of WonderUnder to hold applique in place before satin stitching. There are always tons of scraps left, so I peel off the paper backing and use the scraps. I've only done it on small quilts buy I sprinkle them across the batting then iron on the top using steam to bond them. Works for me and since I already have a bucket of scraps...
