Polyester thread is stronger than cotton, that part is true. But, it's also true that polyester thread can tear out a seam over time because it is stronger than cotton fabric. For piecing, I would only use 100% cotton thread. I would however
think about using poly thread for FMQ, I can't always find cotton thread to match what I'm working on.
