From what I can see in the photo the error is only on the left side near the bottom, right? I can see that when you bind it you would be disappointed to lose the point of the middle block if you trim both sides all the way up to match, so how about if you trim starting from all four corners toward the center and angle it so that you don't end up trimming anything at the points of the center block? When you bind it the points will meet the binding, and your piece will have 8 sides instead of 6.
