Ok, I have this quilt that someone asked me to "remake". Her mother made it a long time ago. I have never seen one put together like this. She cut squares, folded them into HST, slipped a piece of batting into the resulting HST. She made 2 of these to form a square (like turnovers), using a zig-zag stitch to connect them. So, essentially, the HST's have a zig-zag stitch running diagonally to connect the 2 quilted HST's to form a square (that is the extent of the quilting), so it's two sided (front and back). She would like to keep the quilt only it needs to be "redone", because the zig-zag stitching is falling apart every time it is washed. Apparently, this method was a trend a few years back. So, I have no idea what to do. Do you all have any suggestions? She is open to anything at this point. Thank you in advance. :)
Red indicates zig-zag attachment, and each triangle has it's own batting.
