I just made my first and possibly last set of potholders. I had enough scraps left from a table runner to make four more blocks and thought they would make cute potholders for the friend I was giving the table runner. I used two layers of Insul-brite, shiny side out as instructed. They seem too "puffy". I just did an X through the middle as even SITD seemed difficult. The binding was also hard as the potholders were stiff. Would it be better to use one layer of Insul-brite and a couple of layers of flannel? One layer of Insul-brite by itself doesn't seem like enough padding, but two seems too much. What would you recommend?
