Enjoy!
I am in complete agreement. I tried the 2 machine thing thinking that using one of the machines in the classroom would alleviate my hauling my own. WRONG! Found out the painful way that 1/4" on one machine is not the same 1/4" on another. It's one of those mysteries in life we just have to accept.
True, very true. But I use different machines for different parts of the assembly. I have one machine set up with the walking foot and use it for quilting, attaching binding, etc. And another machine with the 1/4" foot. All my machines I use on a regular basis are Vikings and the feet are interchangeable so I don't have that problem. If I get out a vintage to make something then I only use that machine for the entire project. Something in my brain about mixing vintage and new....how strange.
