In the early days we were taught not to use invisible thread on baby quilts, for the safety of the baby.
The example we were given was if a stitch was too long (either from poor free motion quilting or a skipped back thread) a baby could get it's tiny finger caught and twisted and cut off circulation and possibly loose the finger.
I don't use it because I can't see where I've been ... especially as the eyes are aging!
