well, here is how I go about it.
I do strive for that elusive perfection...you know why?
Bc if I don't keep reaching for it, man, can I make a big mess.
Never have gotten there, and probably never will...that's ok.
After so many times of doing something over, I get exhausted and at that point it is no longer fun.
Fun is what I want, so I'll keep trying, but I won't make myself crazy about it.
By the way, other ppl's "personal touches" don't bother me a bit. I see with my heart. That's what I'm hoping my family will do ;)
