Today was also Spirit Day. We wore purple shirts as reminders to remember all the youths who have committed suicide because of being bullied for being gay or being perceived to be gay. We had a memorial service last night with about 400 attending to remember the teens who gave up their lives in the month of September. There were easel boards with names of 6, 2 were 13, the oldest 19.
Thank you for bringing this up. My daughter's gay best friend committed suicide after someone told her she should just go home and shoot herself. So she did. I still miss her.
