That is wonderful. My husband had an uncle who bought a Singer while in the navy and earned extra money hemming pants and doing repairs and alterations for the other guys. He continued to sew throughout his whole life, and he and his wife had another kitchen in their basement where they did canning and stuff. He was a real gem.
