I took a hand quilting class when I was pregnant with my son -- he's turning 28 next month and the completed quilt top is still in the closet. My mother-in-law gave me a double wedding ring top that her 100-year-old grandmother-in-law pieced as a wedding gift in 1947 -- mother-in-law didn't like the background color, and now I'm supposed to "do something" with it. It would feel almost wrong to finish either one of these by machine.
