Thanks for the comment about the back stitches being evenly spaced. :) They normally aren't. I appliqued the top before sandwiching it. The stitches you see on the back are the "hand quilting" that I did for the piece. The problem with my stitching in this piece is multiple. I should have used a heavier thread and/or pulled it tighter. Keeping it tighter so that it didn't "loosen up" when I went to the second stitch. It still is a lot better than previous attempts.
