Mum has promised to look at the quilt with her glasses off. Problem solved. Now why didn't I think of that sooner! :)

Kitsapquilter - I always wash all my quilts before giving them away. My quilts are hand quilted, and take months (literally) to make. By the time they are completed the light fabric tends to look a bit icky. I also want my quilts to smell fresh when received. Also if something goes wrong - as it did with this quilt - then I should be the one to fix it. I would hate for my Mum to worry that she had ruined it.
