Welcome to the board. "Quilt as desired", the instruction most commonly given on quilt patterns is the bane of a quilters existance. I guess because there are so many countless ways to finish a project. It is left up to us to decide so this is why you won't find very specific tutorials. There are, however, countless tutorials on the web for both hand and machine quilting. There is a great blog out there by Leah Day of Day Style designs where she is coming up with 365 different machine quilting filler designs. Perhaps a visit to her blog might give you some inspiration along with the beautiful pictures so many of our members post of finished quilts. Here is a link to Leah's blog:
