When I first got married I had a nice dinner with pork chops homemade applesauce and potato pancakes. Well I never had eaten potato pancakes before and never made them. I grated the potatoes like the recipe said and by time I was making them the mixture had turned black. I didn't know why but used it anyways. We sat down to eat and my husband took a bite but didn't say anything. then I started to eat mine and Yuk, it was horrible. I pulled him plate away and dumped the pancakes and the rest of the batter in the garbage. they were horrible and he was being so nice saying how great everything tasted. We still talk about it today after 33 years of marriage. I've never made them again!!
