Thanks, dear heart. I suspect this is a mental problem..for one, my father was Navy and would pass up fried chicken for a pot of beans. When I went to live with them we wound up on the reservation in Yuma (I hated the desert after growing up in lovely green West Virginia) and the blowing sand would get into the big iron pot of beans Mom had to cook. And I was raised to believe that gravy was almost a national beverage, so potatoes with no gravy are not for human consumption. I won't do more than take a polite bite of french fries!!
Like I said, SaveMart has real good already prepared stuff that my friends claim, rightly or not, are very good. Now German Deviled Eggs are another thing, those I make quite well. There are never any left when i take them to parties.
