As a passionate Moda fan, and as a reproduction fabric fanatic, I was surprised to find that I didn't really like the whole collection. The second half of it was more interesting to me, especially the last several with the larger floral print.

These fabrics would all likely have been used together, Union and all, in a sampler-type quilt, perhaps with the stripe as borders or sashing, but also within the blocks. Quilt makers of the 1800s were much less matchy-matchy than we are today; that's one of the reasons I love the fabrics and quilts of the era so much, I guess. They would also make an interesting log cabin - one with at least 5 or more narrow "logs" on each side of the block. Quelle idee........Hmmmmm......!! :-D
