Hobb's wool batting would have a higher loft than 80/20 cotton poly. High loft poly would not work if you are going to quilt it by machine.
Depends on if you are quilting it on a home machine or a longarm. The last 4 quilts I did had Quilter's Dream Puff in them, and two of them were flannel top and bottom. Quilted up beautiful!
