If you are worried about the width, you can always put a skinny border on before you bind. It still looks fabulous!
Ditto to this. I recently did this to a baby quilt I'm making for my nephew! After I evened it out, it's now smaller than I was wanting, so I will probably just add a simple boarder to make it a little bigger.
