[quote=Favorite Fabrics]I'm Mom, right?

That's:M-ade O-f M-oney
According to 13-year old daughter.
----------------------------------------------
When I wound up a single mother of two little girls, I would set them down and explain the money math.
"I get this much money every month".
Sounds of joyful greed from girls.
"We have to pay this much for rent".
Groans from girls.
"We have to pay this much for utilities".
Groans.
"We have to pay this for insurance on the car".
Groans.
"We have this much left each month".
Sounds of muted joy from girls.
"But we have to pay this much for gas for the car
and this much for food and this much to buy new
clothes and shoes and dog food".
Groans from girls, and fast finger movement as
they add up the totals.

After this, they did not think of dear old Mom as a
money machine. But when we went shopping with
coupons, they got to keep the amount they saved
with the coupons, only if it was stuff we liked and
often used. They both grew up very aware of what
money really bought. And got jobs as soon as they
were old enough.
