This is a gift for my niece, born October 4th. Her name is Violet (hence my color choice).

I used the whole cloth baby quilt pattern from the Return to Elm Creek book. I had never done a whole cloth quilt before, and I thought it would be a quick way to get something done for my niece. Marking the quilt was pain-staking, and the worst part of the whole process. Quilting it was quick and very satisfying. In hindsight I would have done some more quilting in the blank spaces, but in the book it was free motion quilted and I did not want to replicate that by hand. Also, I didn't want to use my machine for this. I have also read some reviews from people who have painstakingly quilted very intricate designs into a whole cloth quilt only to have the design be almost swallowed by all of the puckers and such. If I had more time I would have figured something out and probably done some more quilting, but I really wanted to send it out, and I don't thing the fabric or batting will shift too much.

Thanks for looking!
