To the person who is looking for a dog to adopt. If you are in your 70's, you don't want a beagle. My daughter has had 2. Not on purpose, they were rescues, the dogs chose her. They are escape artist in the first degree! They steal food, get out of your yard even when you think it is secure. I think that is how she got both of hers. They got out of their yards and couldn't find their way home. The latest one had tags and was in the local pound. Nobody ever fessed up to owning him so my daughter took him. He is a sweet dog but escapes every chance he gets. But if you get one you should know that you will spend a lot of time chasing him down.
