We place ties in the quilt in place of binding and quilting. As we tie the ties we pray for the person. We make lap quilts that are typically 48 x 60.

I've also been in our church making prayer quilts. If my attachment works it'll give you a simple pattern. The print is musical and the pattern has 9 patches on point with the full squares of the background fabric. The ties representing prayers mean so much to people when they are in need.
