I'm really scared to go into surgery and it means a lot that you all are here for me. The surgery is on my left knee and lasts about 3 hours and around 5 hours in recovery room. A screw and a plate will be left in my knee. Thanks for the well wishes, it's greatly appreciated. :-D
I've had knee replacement, too. I was walking up steps with a cane in about 5 days. You will be able to drive when you no longer need the pain meds if it is your left knee. The pain is not bad and you will need to keep ice on it to keep down the swelling. Sleep when you can, do your PT and get one of those long handled magnets with the pinchers on the end. I went in to visit my class after about 10 days. Let people help you and keep your foot elevated. I will think of you tomorrow!! Don't be afraid.
