Happy to share

3D XMAS TREE:
Appliqué method:

MATERIAL NEEDED:

VISE-FIX

DESIRED SIZE AND COLOUR OF COTTON FQ and desired colour of scraps for tree also backing and wading to match the desired size of the quilt

THREAD: SEWING AND QUILTING ALSO FOR APLLIUEING

HOW TO:

Make the desired size: cut the panel (14x10 inches for wall hanging)

Place the appliqué pieces under vise-fix and using a pencil trace the pieces onto the vise-fix leaving enough space for cutting them out with at least ½ inch around the shape

Once traced Cut out the shapes including the ½ inch around

Place the cut out shapes on three different material scraps onto the wrong sides of them

Press using a piece of glad bake paper to protect your iron

DO NOT GLIDE THE IRON BUT: PRESS, LIFT, MOOVE FURTHER AND PRESS again HOLDING FOR 5 -6 SECONDS EACH TIME

Leave it to cool and cut out the exact marked shapes without the extra ½ inch

Once cooled peal off the vliesefix and place the tree shapes onto your base material/panel as picture indicates 1-3 covering each shape with the other bigger one leaving the last shape of original shape (please refer to the pattern picture) even the bottom if needed and press firmly

Repeat the process for the star
-------------------------------------------------------------------
(to be honest I did not bother with the vlsfix and I used my ususal method of iron on interfacing on the wrong side of the fabric, and applique on.)

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Choose your favourite stitch (blanket, decorative or satin) and affix appliqué to base

When done Sandwich and baste the quilt (wading 2 inch bigger then panel, backing 3 inch bigger.)
Quilt over with echo quilting following the shapes from middle outwards

If the quilt is going to be used as a wall hanger make a sleeve or as pictured strap attachments for the hanger by folding the desired size of material on the wrong side sew it together turn inside out and place on the back of the quilt.

I could not figure out sending it as PDF there I have the templates, but basically there are just triangles and a star on the top and can be done any size U wish
