Thank you all so much for the votes of confidence... it truly took me months to work up the nerve to even start this project.
I'm a newbie and have only completed 1 twin size quilt and a couple of lap quilts, so the thought of even trying a bargello was pretty daunting. Especially after seeing some of the beauties that have been posted on this forum.
But then I said to myself, you have less than $10 invested in this, what could it hurt...

I did look at a pattern for a bargello, but it scared me to death when I looked at it... so intimidating! I'm not good with patterns at all, I really do need to take a quilting class to learn how to read a pattern. I guess I inherited that from my Mother and Grandmother, both were avid quilters, but never could use a pattern.

But I would encourage anyone who hasn't done one before.. you have to try it! I know I'm no where near finished, but it's going together so much easier than I expected. I think I have spent more time ironing seams than on anything else in this project.

Can't wait to get home tonight and add a few more strips to see where it goes from here.
