I had an old quilt from my Grandmother. It wasn't usable as a quilt but I made it into teddy bears (they could even have some very worn spots, just adds character). Also had enough to make a table runner. I gave a teddy bear to my children and told them it was a quilt from their Great Grandmother not a toy for the kids.
