It probably means to iron one row going one way and the next going the other so that when you join the rows the seams will nest together and you don't have as much bulk. Some people press seams open to cut down on bulk where the seams meet. Of course, it may mean something entirely different. Seems like everytime I turn around there's a new term or technique.
