I agree with this. And the ones I looked at recently were either white or green, and moulded from heavy plastic. I think they might last quite a while, and weren't that expensive. I'm thinking of nailing them to two posts on my tiny back stoop, and letting vines cover it to help shade the service porch.
I think that if you get two or three square cinder blocks and posts to nail or zip tie the lattice to that would be wonderful, especially if you are not agenst a wall. and you could always offer your neighbor some space if they would like on the opposite side of your wall. makes for great neighbors.
