Even better, moisten your fingertips then pull the end of the thread through them, keeps the thread from getting too wet. I learned putting the thread in my mouth however from my mom over 60 years ago. :-D

What is saliva?
It's the scientific word for the liquid in your mouth.. spit.
I've always used it for threading my needles. My Mama taught me to do it this way!
