The 503a was a new machine, only manufactured from 1960-1962, even though the serial numbers were issued by the company starting in 1951, "most of the machines, if not all, were made between 1960 and 1962."
The FW, on the other hand, had been manufactured since the early 30's! Geeze, if you have one made in 1964, you have one of the last made. I have one of the first FW's made in 1935 and another one made in 1953. Love those FW's!
