Welcome from NC! I find buying fat quarters really adds alot of variety to my stash. I buy some solids, or tone on tones to add with them, but for alot of quilts, & blocks, you just need a little fabric, so the fqs work great. So, if you find you like lots of colors, or different fabrics in your quilts, then try that! Main thing, enjoy, & find what works for you!
