I did a quilt with a few t-shirt blocks mixed in. I just did echo/shadow quilting around the main design elements of the shirt. It came out fine. And I used my regular favorite - Warm & Natural batting. My son loved it!! Oh, yes, I did fuse each t-shirt piece. I think it's really necessary to avoid stretching.
