I started out the simple patterns, classes. I'm very traditional, soft colors, pastels, roses, victorian style.
Then I took more classes, especially retreats, and learning more techniques I love jumping into bold & different. Bargello, spice swirl, stack n whack, twist n turn, double diamond ruler, anything I can. My personal goal is to make at least one quilt of every technique I can find. I'm collecting for a postage stamp, a watercolor/monet, and learning English paper piecing now. I love paper piecing.
I love log cabin, that block has the most possibilities of any block out there, and now I know 4 ways to do log cabin too. I also want to do a yo-yo quilt, not sure why, just to try it. And fabric, wow, I went from muted to love that sparkle, love fairy frost, miller glitter, anything outlined in a metalic, just adds some pop. I also like to recycle anything into quilts...like the original quilting.
yes, this is very addicting but not hazardous to your health at least ;)
