Layer it - 1 piece for each pattern you need, or if it's a small pattern figure out how many you can get on a sheet. I have done as many as 20, but I recommend stopping at 16. Make a photo copy of your original (1 or more depending how many ubits you need. Staple the copy pattern to the top of your stack of newsprint.
Unthread your machine needle and sew on every line of your pattern(s). Don't forget to add a seam allowance if the pattern doesn't have one. When yo uhave sewn on all the lines, remove the staples and number the copies exactly as the master pattern was numbered. You now have "x" number of foundations on which you can start piecing.
You can run it through your printer, if you want to, but I do it this way. I'm cheap and printer ink isn't. :)
