I have a Rowenta with an automatic shutoff. It stays on for at least 10 minutes. I just have to tip it to get it to go back on again. It heats up really fast too. Most times it is not cooled down immediately anyway. It doesn't shut off at that time unless it is not being used. I feel safer with the shorter shutoff time.
